Avera St. Joseph Clinic, formerly known as St. Joseph Medical Associates, was established in 1988 by St. Joseph Hospital of Mitchell, S.D., to provide quality health care for residents of Howard and those in and around Miner County. An Internal Medicine Specialist on staff at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital provides care at Avera St. Joseph on a regular basis. Patients are seen on a daily basis by a Certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Certified health care professional. Mammography Services are available at the clinic. The 2200 sq.ft. clinic building, completed in October 1999, includes three exam rooms, one procedure room, a large x-ray suite, and a lab. The facility is handicap accessible.
