If you have experienced a heart attack or have congestive heart failure or angina, therapists will provide you with education, physical rehabilitation and emotional support to speed your recovery and improve your ability to function on a day-to-day basis.

Avera De Smet Memorial Hospital's therapists work with your phyician to develop a rehabilitation plan to improve your cardiac health and maintain good cardiac function. Cardiac rehabilitation is provided on an inpatient or outpatient basis. The number and frequency of your visits will be dependent on your individual needs. Medicare, Medicaid and most insurances cover the cost of cardiac rehabilitation.
