Community Health Education

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital offers many educational opportunities to the public through the Education Services Department. Informative classes and professional presentations are provided on a monthly basis. The Teleconference Center at Avera Queen of Peace is the site of many interactive classes and conferences. Educational opportunities are advertised in the local newspaper, announced on local radio stations and listed on our Calendar of Events.

Patient Education

The Education Services Department at Avera Queen of Peace provides a variety of patient education including diabetes, ostomy care, CPR, and instruction on subcutaneous injections. Individual sessions with specially trained professionals are scheduled upon physician referral on an inpatient or outpatient basis. Family members are welcome to take part in the education.
