Avera Queen of Peace Occupational Health Services offers medical exams designed to fit the nuances of nearly any business or organization. We manage all exam activities, from determining eligibility and monitoring when exams are due, to scheduling and conducting them. Our health care professionals provide reviews for consistency and we report results directly to employers. Exams address all aspects of employer requirements as well as OSHA, ADA, and other regulatory agency compliance.
- Pre-placement/post-offer exams: Determination of a candidate’s physical ability to safely perform essential job functions.
- Functional pre-work screening: Matches the right worker with the right work. Provides clear indications of physical ability to perform critical job demands. Measures functional capabilities in accordance with American Disabilities Act.
- Medical surveillance: Managing the health status of employees/applicants exposed to chemical, physical or biological hazards in the workplace, in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory or corporate specified programs.
- Fitness for duty: An exam performed outside of the regularly scheduled medical surveillance program, at the request of an employer for cause (i.e. employee appears to be sick on the job, employee has been off work for a long period of time due to illness, or there is concern about harm to employee or co-workers).
- Specialty exams: Specialty examination of a worker is performed to diagnose or confirm the existence of an occupational disease, to assess the degree of impairment, or to address other risk management issues. (link to a separate Specialty Exam Page).
- Functional capacity evaluation: Rehabilitation Services therapists assess and define and individual’s capacity to perform a specific job function or activity. This exam provides a differentiation between pain and function.
